With so many events being postponed or cancelled due to COVID restrictions, we were excited to hear that our friends at the RPM Nationals were still going to be able to host their racing event in 2020. The event was closed to spectators, so the drag strip was limited to participants, crew members, press and RPM staffers only. Even with the smaller crowd, safety requirements, and social distancing we still enjoy the collection of vintage race cars racing down the track at Santa Margarita Ranch.
The RPM Nationals is open to 1936 and earlier hot rod style race cars. No modern performance equipment or technology was allowed, so there were plenty of 4-cylinder and V8 flathead engines taking runs down the track. You can view the full event details and rules on the RPM Nationals website.
